Quantity Surveyor
Location: Shoreditch, London
Working pattern: Office-based
Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience
About the role
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor who thrives in creative environments and understands the balance between design intent and commercial precision. Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll take ownership of cost management across beautifully designed spaces, making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to an exceptional standard.
You'll shape systems that make cost reporting effortless, clear, and reliable, partnering with designers, project managers, and clients to bring ideas to life in a way that's both practical and inspiring.
What you'll do
- Lead cost planning and management across design-led and interior build projects
- Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Create and manage pricing templates, tender documents, and contracts
- Support feasibility studies and value analysis to inform early design decisions
- Visit sites to monitor progress, costs, and quality
- Identify value engineering opportunities that enhance rather than dilute design
- Develop consistent, transparent cost reporting across teams and clients
- Run tender exercises and prepare clear, insightful summary reports
- Reconcile final accounts and deliver accurate project costings
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment at every stage
What you'll bring
- A proactive, detail-driven mindset with genuine appreciation for great design
- Confidence translating numbers into narratives clients understand
- Strong organisation and a solutions-focused, hands-on approach
- Experience across contractor and client-side roles, ideally within retail, hospitality, or design-led interiors
- Proven success delivering high-end fit-outs up to £5m
- Sound understanding of construction safety standards and legislation
- Advanced Excel skills and a talent for building clear financial systems
- Full UK driving licence
Why apply
This is a chance to work at the intersection of design and commercial delivery, shaping how creative projects come together financially. If you care about great design and want to play a central role in making it happen, it's worth a conversation.
