About the studio
An established interior design and architecture studio in Soho, with a long track record across retail, F&B, and leisure. Many of its client relationships have run for years, and the work spans flagships, roll-outs, and everything in between.
They’re open about how people progress. Every level has a defined role, clear expectations, and a salary band, reviewed each February against independent market data. You know where you stand and what the next step looks like.
The role
This is the step into independence and ownership. You’ll manage your own projects day to day, reporting to an Associate or Director, and take them from brief through to site.
It’s a role that mixes design, technical drawing, and coordination. You’ll take a client’s sketch feasibility, develop it into a scheme that works for building control and means of escape, and see it through to completion. Vectorworks is a core part of how the studio draws, so you’ll be using it every day.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing your own projects from brief through to completion, and handling day-to-day issues as they come up
- Developing sketch feasibilities into workable design and layout schemes, with building control and means of escape in mind
- Producing drawing packages including GAs, merchandise layouts, RCPs, internal elevations, shopfronts, and ceiling, partition, and staircase details
- Producing finishes and door schedules, specifications, and landlord coordination and fire strategy drawings
- Briefing and coordinating consultants, including structural engineers, M&E, sprinkler contractors, and suppliers
- Liaising with landlords on shell specifications and base building
- Visiting site for surveys and meetings, which can mean early starts and some travel
- Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to client relationships
Who we’re looking for
- Around 3 to 5 years’ experience in retail, F&B, or leisure interiors
- Confident Vectorworks skills (essential), with SketchUp and AutoCAD alongside
- Adobe Creative Suite and Revit are an advantage
- A strong working knowledge of building regulations and site delivery
- Accurate, well-organised technical drawing, with an eye for design quality
- A degree in interior architecture, architecture, or equivalent
Why this one
- Your own projects, with real responsibility from the start
- A transparent career path, with salary bands reviewed annually
- Long-standing clients across retail, F&B, and leisure
- Soho studio with hybrid working
