About the company

A London-based design and project delivery consultancy is looking for a Project Manager with strong commercial awareness to join their growing team. Known for delivering innovative spaces for leading brands, the consultancy combines creativity with technical precision, managing projects from concept through to completion. This hybrid role offers the chance to work across all stages of the project lifecycle, blending project delivery and commercial management within a collaborative environment.

About the role

As Assistant Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor, you'll lead the coordination and commercial control of multiple projects across the UK. You'll be involved from feasibility and cost planning through to construction and handover, making sure projects are delivered efficiently, creatively, and profitably. This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on project professional who enjoys both the strategic and technical sides of project delivery.

What you'll do

  • Lead the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and planning through to delivery and handover
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for new and existing projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk analyses, providing clients with clear commercial and technical insight
  • Manage project schedules, procurement, and supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with client-side and contractor-side agreements
  • Track costs, forecast spend, and report throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work closely with design and delivery teams to align cost, quality, and design intent
  • Lead tender processes, evaluate contractor submissions, and recommend best-value solutions
  • Ensure all health and safety, statutory, and quality standards are met on every project
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants to support repeat business

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience in project management, quantity surveying, or commercial fit-out delivery, ideally within retail or hospitality sectors
  • Strong understanding of cost planning, tendering, and contract administration
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to balance creativity and commercial rigour
  • Strong technical and organisational skills, with confidence managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Excel and general cost management or project tracking software
  • Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and health and safety legislation
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide as required

Why apply

You'll take ownership of projects from concept to completion, working with leading retail and hospitality brands across the UK. The studio is supportive and collaborative, with genuine room for progression. The package includes a competitive salary, private medical insurance, annual bonus, birthday leave, hybrid working, and a clear career development pathway.

Right to work: Only candidates with the current right to work in the UK can be considered.
